Do the Alledgedly Altered Documents from Obama's Past Bother You? Vote in our poll........

There have been numerous revelations about discrepancies in Barack Obama's birth certificate and his selective service registration. Both appeared altered and raise questions as to their validity. Does this knowledge cause you to: (you may choose 2)

Feel it is much ado about nothing and probably a rightwing smear.
Be deeply troubled about this man's past and wonder what else he is hiding.
Be somewhat curious, this whole political thing is a circus anyway.
Think if it was important the media would have ferreted it out by now.

Vote on the poll at upper right >>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Hi, I voted.

Honestly, I personally do not think it is right to show pictures of Obama smoking. Maybe I'm wrong. I mean, I'm totally for free speech. YET, Barack Hussein Obama is a role model for many, many youths. And it's kind of like making him a "Marlboro Man" ad for smoking to show those pictures. That's why I object - for the children's sake.

However, maybe I'm wrong. Because it clearly evidences that Obama is just as faulted as you and me - and it breaks the image of him as "Mr. Perfect". Like all the rest of us, any idea that we are perfect is a fantasy and a false utopian ideal.

Curious what others think... but just my thoughts.

I feel both ways about it - Would be better not to be seen by children smoking... but also, it's fair and realistic showing he's not perfect. Not sure which is really the "right way" to look at that picture of Obama smoking.

grace explosion; You may be right, but he has written numerous books detailing his drug and alcohol use during high school and college. Here is an excerpt from his book Dreams from My Father:

Excerpt From "Dreams of my Father" by Barack Obama

In 1995, Obama's first autobiography is released. In it he writes of his years in college, associating with radicals. "To avoid being mistaken for a sellout, I chose my friends carefully. The more politically active black students. The foreign students. The Chicanos. The Marxist professors and structural feminists and punk rock performance poets . . . When we ground out our cigarettes in the hallway carpet or set our stereos so loud that the walls began to shake, we were resisting bourgeois society's stifling constraints. We weren't indifferent or careless or insecure. We were alienated."

[Obama, Barack, "Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance,
Random House, Pages 100-101]

And a 15 page excerpt from this book now appears in an 8th grade textbook! Maybe not the part above, but the curious child may want to read the whole books.

Re: Obama smoking... it just shows that he is a hypocrite, the way he blathers on about how we need hope and change and that we as a nation are flawed, but he himself is still a secret smoker (which is why he won't release his medical records...)

Re: his altered documents... the media is covering all kinds of things about this guy. Those phony documents are the least of my concerns. I am far more concerned about his associations with left wing radicals and racist churches, his voting record in the Illinois Senate and his admitted desire to "spread the wealth" and "fundamentally change" this country to be more fair.

A Socialist agenda is by far the worse of two evils when compared to a few falsified documents.
